Pinchon

A newly established Spanish restaurant at Rochester - Pinchon. Rochester park is a wonderful place for tranquility yet with food that satisfy your stomach . We chose alfresco sitting area that gave us the entire view of Rochester park, watching individuals. One of servers was wonderful that he gave extra miles to us, ensuring our sky-juice refilled promptly, ensuring us that we are fine with food, ensuring us that we will be attended promptly ,provide good recommendation on the food ......

The only drawback to have meal here is the menu... their name of dishes are superb long, imagine more than 7 words mixture of jargon wording for each dishes, as such you will find the importance of servers around you.

Beef Terrayaki with Shabu Shabu sauce
The beef is juicy , well-cooked , perfect married with Shabu Shabu sauce. The beef literally melted in your mouth . Excellent !

Minced Duck breast with bread.
Didnt taste like duck but tuna, damaged the orginal taste of duck

French Snails

Snails were huge !

Stew button mushroom
Juicy mushroom with robust flavour .

Spanish Dessert
Brandy ice cream matched with similar dessert with bread pudding. the texture, taste exactly the same but it coated with layer of caramel. An unique dessert that could find elsewhere in Singapore

Chang Porridge

This traditional stall has been around Tiong Bahru for more than 4 decades, yet their business still thriving despite fierce competition around the vicinity. The fundamental of their success is the smooth , tasty porridge cooked over a charcoal stove for more than hours daily that gave u the nostalgic taste.

There are plenty of ingredients for your to choose; Pig innate porridge, Century egg porridge, lean meat porridge, chicken porridge...... whatever you go for, each bowl of hot porridge taste divine .. smooth, not watery, not starchy and tasty .

One advise if you intend to be there during weekend, please bring along newspaper or magazine or whatever that could entertainment yourself while waiting for the porridge to be served. Minimum waiting time 45 mins ... so isnt it a training ground to train your patient.

Old Hong Kong Kitchen

A new Hong Kong eatery spruced up at Novena Square 2, I need to be forefront that I dun have much expectation for local HK restaurant after several tasting . However, the lady boss of the Old Hong Kong Kitchen raised my hope after a round of introduction of their menu and chefs. All chefs came from HK, and each chef specialises in one item on the menu. (I though there must be a ratio of Singaporean against foreign chef, I dun see local servers ... ???) Well, it turned out to be another disappointment , the dishes that we had ordered tasted alike including the texture despite these dishes were recommended by the lady boss. Peking Duck is Beijing famous dish, when has it became HK dish. The skin wasn't crispy that could gave me a wow factors. Although the savory dishes failed to captivate me , but the dessert is worth for a try.

Shark Cartilage Mee Suan ; the mee suan absorbed the essence of the soup that made it perfect , not too soggy.

Peking Duck

Cloud - soft mango puree with pomelo.
