Singapore Children Society

Today , I made full use of my day with no regret. My entire morning was booked for a charity event at Singapore Children Society. It is a non-profit organization helps children from dysfunctional families. The children are either refer by social workers after assessing their case or send in by court order due to their parents incompetence to take care of them. Their kids age ranging from 3 – 13 year olds, mixture of different ethnic group.

I have not full recovery from flu yet, trying to avoid close contact with the children and others, worried that I might spread contagious to them. God ! Please bless them !

We had the usual “Fire, Earth, hunter” game in the beginning to warm up the kids, thereafter , clay-making session taught by Jeanette Aw. The children had the hand on experience to make various figurines from the clay ….. the boys simply love to make dragons and girls love angels.

I would like to thank Jasmine, Kam Weng, Adrian, Stephanie, Pau Ming,Bi Qi , Michelle and not forgetting Pauline and Jeanette for their help. Without you gals, the kids will not have so much fun today.

Thank you Zendy and her family for their hospitality. I couldn't find any other better and appropriate words to thank her other than million of thanks.

I spent 5 days in Shanghai ... the climate there was cooling, average temperature 8 - 14 degree. We just need to put on a jacket to roam around this cosmopolitan city with a mixure of west and east culture .

My first meal in Shanghai... Hazelnut coffee , waffles with peatnut butter at one of the cafe along Nanjing Road.

One of the famous local eatery patronised by the local, the fried bun were juicy , skin was chewy.. one plate of 8 bun costed only RMB 4 after convesion to SGD , is less than SGD $1. It was a steal.

Dinner at one of the restaurant within the vincity of Xin Tian Di - Well know tourtist spot. Herbal Legeng typically served dishes cooked from chinese herbal which nourishes , strengthen our body .

Authentica Shanghai cuisine.. Hong Qiao Restaurant.

It was Strawberry season, u can pluck and eat the strawberries on the spot.

Children Aid Society

I spent my entire afternoon at Childrend Aid Society to learn Clay painting with the less privileged kids. The children came from either single parent family or broken family who need special attentions from the society . We coloured the clay figures with the children, interact with them , play games with them, hi tea together. They loved the cakes provided my us so much that some of the kids ate more than 4 slices. Indeed, it was a wonderful wet afternoon.

However, pardon me for my bluntness comments. Jasmine who supposed to be the main contact for the event did a relatively disorganied job. Different timing was given to the home and volunteers , no concrete planning of programme, not mingling with the kids. Although we asked her umpteen times any help required from us but rejected our offered. I felt that her presence today purely to show off ........ really lack of the spirit of volunteering ....

I had been waiting for the day to dine in this well-reviewed Japanese restaurant cum super mart. Best place to look for high quality of sashimi at reasonable price. Check it out. Sakuraya Restaurant.

We had our lunch at the Tanglin Village outlet. We selected a few slabs of sashimi from the display refrigerator at the left side of the restaurant. Sent its to chef to slice nicely for our dining pleasure . The sashimi indeed live up to food critics reviews. Fresh and good .

However, the restaurant literally served sashimi only, not recommendable if you expect more than seafood.

Swordfish and Seabeam.
Swordfish is too good that we order another slab.

Disgraceful you. Ones do not hve any intention to do something , despite all your begging, Be grateful that great ones have DONE A LOT although only willing to give what have been getting. and lesser and gained nothing in the past. Proven ones sorrow dont move ones, each begging makes ones worsen. It worthless to be throughful for ones, good friend is a delay tactic & irresponsible ... life still normal...joyful ...lost nothing...gain everything yet ones life live in despair continue...
