The Ship Restaurant @ Shaw

I believed The Ship restaurant is not strange to anyone, it had been in Singapore for 3 decades opened by a group of hainanese , this restaurant came to our mind should thanks to Jenny, helping us to recall this nostagic restaurant by suggest it for our dinner. Before stepping into the restaurant, you will be greeted by overseas article writing reviews on the restaurant, pasted on the glass panel. Once I stepped into the restaurant, I started to remincise those days that I had my lunch here when I was young, the furniture remain the same, the lighting still dim, the stone flooring still there, the port-hole toilent still there.

Lets not talk about their food, we are mainly attracted by the good reviews for their sliced fish noodle to be here, hmmm. So sad, the dish was so popular that the item had already sold out in the afternoon, nevetheless, the dishes that we ordered were tasty. I had Grilled pork chop that came with pineapple sauce, the pork chop was tender and juicy that came taste perfect with pineapple sauce that gives sour and sweet taste.

Hog Breath Cafe

Hog breath cafĂ© ,begins known for its quality steak, sad to say my visit to Vivo city branch was truly an disappointment. Sat at hidden corner behind Daiso Japanese mart with Australia country style design, gave diners cowboy dining experience. The services here was suck, that we waited for more than 15 minutes for our order to be taken, no complimentary ice water, the soup served with the main course…. ....

Food wise, I ordered natural steak (lite cut) a smaller portion that was just nice for me, the steak wasn’t that wonderful, chunk of fats on the piece of steak, not juicy, overall the steak taste no different with those at hawker centre. Why did I pay $27 ++ for such quality of beef ?

Pinchon

A newly established Spanish restaurant at Rochester - Pinchon. Rochester park is a wonderful place for tranquility yet with food that satisfy your stomach . We chose alfresco sitting area that gave us the entire view of Rochester park, watching individuals. One of servers was wonderful that he gave extra miles to us, ensuring our sky-juice refilled promptly, ensuring us that we are fine with food, ensuring us that we will be attended promptly ,provide good recommendation on the food ......

The only drawback to have meal here is the menu... their name of dishes are superb long, imagine more than 7 words mixture of jargon wording for each dishes, as such you will find the importance of servers around you.

Beef Terrayaki with Shabu Shabu sauce
The beef is juicy , well-cooked , perfect married with Shabu Shabu sauce. The beef literally melted in your mouth . Excellent !

Minced Duck breast with bread.
Didnt taste like duck but tuna, damaged the orginal taste of duck

French Snails

Snails were huge !

Stew button mushroom
Juicy mushroom with robust flavour .

Spanish Dessert
Brandy ice cream matched with similar dessert with bread pudding. the texture, taste exactly the same but it coated with layer of caramel. An unique dessert that could find elsewhere in Singapore

Carnivore

Carnivore reflected the restaurant target audiences must be meat lovers. We had our lunch at Vivo City Carnivore, once you stepped into the outlets, you will see the buffet spread of appetizers , salads & greens. These are to go with the meat to be served by the servers, in order to satisfy all meat lovers, they serves skewers of grilled meats; beef, lamb, honey baked ham, pork, bacon wrapped chicken.

My favour 1st choice goes to grilled chicken thigh which was well marinated, juicy and tender , 2nd is beef hump which was succulent, 3rd favour is honey baked ham with grilled pineapple, the sourness of pineapple married perfectly with the filling honey baked ham.

The service was attentive, efficient and quick to clear our plate, and servers who severed the meat were very friendly and entertaining.

Shashlik Restaurant

This is a certainly one of the oldest restaurant that gave you the nostagic feel , situated inside ulu shopping centre - Far East shopping centre along Orchard Road. No fancy design, no nice decor, no fantastic service.Servers are skill senior workers who has worked in the restaurant for more than 3 decades , tend to be a bit slow and give " dun bother" attitude. Well ! This is the price you need to pay for a good bosch soup came with warm bun. Just tolerate for the sake of best bosch soup in Singapore.
