Chilli Padi was another restaurant highly recommended by Channel 8 food show "Buffet Buffet" aired last month. Had made several trips there to try our luck but usually effort came to nought. Full House ! Finally, our taste able to savour Nonya food at $8.80 per person for kueh, laska and coffee.... but for the small price we were paying, we could only find a main course which was laksa, few varieties of Nonya kueh, 2 -3 items of hot snack plus hot drink.

Taste of the food was passable that couldnt give me the wow factors, the laksa was rather creamy and robust with strong aroma of coconut but still lack of the unique taste of perankan laksa.

Overall, at the price paid for, we should we be complacement with the food served ?

Hog Breath Cafe

Hog breath café ,begins known for its quality steak, sad to say my visit to Vivo city branch was truly an disappointment. Sat at hidden corner behind Daiso Japanese mart with Australia country style design, gave diners cowboy dining experience. The services here was suck, that we waited for more than 15 minutes for our order to be taken, no complimentary ice water, the soup served with the main course…. ....

Food wise, I ordered natural steak (lite cut) a smaller portion that was just nice for me, the steak wasn’t that wonderful, chunk of fats on the piece of steak, not juicy, overall the steak taste no different with those at hawker centre. Why did I pay $27 ++ for such quality of beef ?

PS Cafe @ Paragon

There is no doubt tha PS cafe is a place for pastry and coffee... sitting down relaxing with a cup of aromatic coffee. The Lemon tart went perfectly well with coffee.. sweetness and bitterness from coffee smoothen the sourness of the lemon tart. The mixed berries cheese cake was soft , and cheesey .

X'mas Eve

Merry X'mas !

It's X'mas time, this year we had our celebration at Ss Chin new flat, she prepared spread of food for our stomachs . Although we couldnt find our X'mas tree to display, Sis Chin was so creative that she recycle a card board and X'mas ornaments to an enviromental friendly X'mas tree.

Our Main course; Turkey, Roast Crispy pork roll, pasta, honey baked ham, cheese prawn, bacon roll...

Our dessert ; log cakes from Fairmount & Four Seasons, brownies, Agar, Ice cream from Islander Creamy ..

Rainbow Centre

X'mas is coming ! It is time to share our joy with others, same as last year, a group of volunteers from Mediacorp gathered together to spread X'mas joy to Rainbow centre children. They are group of children that require special attention... please go to rainbow centre website for more information. Thanks to both our wonderful kind hearted host Stanley Leong - DJ of 95.8 and Nick Shen - believed he is not a stranger to those watched TV prgramme. Honestly, I was very excited prior to the event as enjoyed listening to Stanley Leong programme, been wanted to know how he looked like ... ha ha he sound charming on air. Both hosts were fantastic , playing games with the kids despite they were "rather" hard to control simply oblivous with their surrounding ... other than games, we even engaged magician, ballonist.... and even santa clause to give away present.

The children and parents too engrossed by one of the performance... magic show.

I hate beer due to the bitterness taste .. but I found a place that served beers from all over the whole.. African beef, China funny beef, Chile beef ...... and also fruit beef . Fruit beef tasted sweet with a flavour of fruits. Pink Killer is a grape fruit beer and the blue label is mixed berries beef... alcohol contain less than 4% ..
