Ha ha ha ! I celebrated Chinese New Year with a group of HCA’s patients this afternoon.
It was held at Mediacorp TVT B4 theatre. I was supposed to arrive at 12 noon to decorate the venue, as I was assigned to do the decoration. Oh gosh ! Didn’t expect Orange Grove traffic congested , trapped in jam for more than 15 mins, so worried that I couldn't made it on time. Fortunately, Hup Yee and Catherine were around to assist me. Amazingly, we completed the entire décor within 30 mins. Left photo shows our decoration.
We danced line dancing (in fact this was my first experience of line dancing) , sang evergreen songs with the patients and the more exciting game “Bingo”. I ran after Yew Ming and snatched Hong Bao from her. Of course the hong bao meant for the patient, I didn’t want the Cantonese pao pao to be disappointed.
Oh ya ! I had my first Loi Hei of the new year too. I am the big fan of CNY Yu Sheng. The colorful red, white, green radishes mixed with plum sauce made me drooled…. We tossed the vegetables high up in the air for good fortune and messed up the table for good luck, most important I want it to bring all the patients good health, fight against the diseases. It was a wonderful fight that made everybody smiled. Thank you Fairmount and Meritus Mandarin sponsored the Yu Sheng.
Although, I have not fully recovered but the pain has alleviated by all the cheerful faces , “thank you” from the patients. I feel fulfilling and happy that I am able to do a bit for them… I hope I will see them again as a healthy person.. . God bless u’ll.
